Music Therapy is an evidenced based profession that uses music to support therapy goals. Registered Music Therapists will assess, plan, carry out and evaluate appointments with your child that address the goals set with the family or outlined in the child’s NDIS plan.

Laura is a Registered Music Therapist based in Melbourne. She is also an overseas certified music therapist, having been educated and trained in the United States. Laura provides music therapy to individuals and small groups. With extra training in Floor Time, Laura loves working with kids and helping them use their strengths to build up their skills.
A typical music therapy session may include several things such as singing or moving to familiar tunes, creating new music together to build confidence or promote self expression, improvisation for self expression or developing sense of self, musical follow the leader to work on initiating or imitating, music listening experiences for self regulation or imaginative thinking, moving to music for improved sequencing and motor planning, as well as musical storytelling. Every music therapy session will be made to target individual needs and differences of the child.
